High-energy country hits that keep the dance floor moving

Formed in early 2020, Southbound 101 brings together some of the Bay Area’s top country musicians.

Drummer Dave Hendrickson and guitarist Mike Urbina set out to build a band with authentic country sound and tight harmonies - soon joined by Rob Simon on bass, Phil Benjamin on lead guitar, and powerhouse vocalist Mark Sargent. Rounding out the lineup, Jaydon Jones rips it up on fiddle - the band’s not-so-secret weapon - and the Southbound 101 sound was born.

Since then, the band has been firing up dance floors all over Northern California - from local wineries and private parties to big events like the King City and Gilroy Rodeos, Maverick’s in Pleasanton, the Gilroy Garlic Festival and Granada Theatre’s Saddlerack Party. Whether you’re line dancing, boot-scootin', or two-stepping - Southbound 101 plays the kind of country music that gets everyone out of their seats and onto the dance floor.

With 2026 already filling up with more South Bay winery gigs and return appearances at favorite venues, Southbound 101 continues to bring high-energy, crowd-pleasing country music wherever the road leads. Check out our upcoming shows to catch us live - or reach out to book Southbound 101 for your own boot-stompin’, line-dancin’ good time.
